Wish You Were Here 1

I'm away, and this is where I'll be, and this is what I'm so excited to see -

Straighten Up and Fly Right

In not so many hours I'll be starting the big adventure - Edinburgh to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur to Jakarta - and a little advice from the Andrew Sisters to the pilot would not go amiss:

Wish me luck - it's going to be amazing (which, as my thesaurus reminds me, also means prodigious, stunning, staggering ...)

P.S.  I do always pay attention to the airplane safety instructions, but I think EVERYBODY would pay attention if they used this clip!

The Writer and the Words - Kind of Like This

I'm not sure how to embed (I think I once knew, but the rules will have changed 17 times since then) - but I love this little video and yes, it did make me think of the way an idea and then the words draw you on into the dance.  Just click on Nadia and enjoy -

Twos

Two narrative poems written, helped by the synchronized sleeping of two cats, and in two weeks I leave for Indonesia.  Oh, and my twins have a birthday coming up.  Is there a theme here, perhaps?

I'm also over on The History Girls, with a ridiculously addictive resource - try it if you dare.

Joy of Stats

Well, July was a month with lots of zeros - for this blog, at least.  For the first time, the number of viewers per month topped 10K - to be exact ...

10,517

And the total number of viewers since records began in May 2010* has gone over 100K - again, to be accurate ...

100,280

So, whether you've been dropping in for years or just stumbled across this blog recently, I'd like to say ...

Thank you very much!

* I started my blog way back in the dewy days of 2006, but Blogger's handy-dandy stats on my visitors started in 2010.  And even then, they were a bit dodgy - quite a few months of 0 views listed, in spite of comments being posted and all.  But hey, it's numbers, and we all know just how slippery they can be!
