What Do You Think?

Well, that's the cover - what do you think?!

It's on my web site now, too.

Here's an idea I had for my web site - how about putting in a section of Deleted Scenes? You know, all the things that editors take out for good editorial reasons, but writers get stroppy and tearful about losing. Would that be interesting to see?

Let me know what you think about that too!

Next post will be from Canada - I'm off to spend a fortnight with my mum, and will be suffering from homesickness for Scotland big time, so have a heart and drop me a line.

Cheers.

Big Year

Hi! I'm Joan Lennon, and this blog is going to be about me and my books, and why 2007 is going to be such A BIG YEAR. Would you like my books? What are they? Why would you like them? Am I going to answer all these questions right now? Well, no. Keep it short and sweet, is what I think. So, mostly what you get this time is the Big Year stuff.

My kids ask me "Are you going to be famous? Are you going to be JK Rowling?" My answer to the first question ranges from "Absolutely" to "Not in your wildest dreams". And to the second question I say, "No, because all that money would be bad for me." (Is there an irony font provided with this thing?) But 2007 is probably the year that will decide stuff like that.

Dates That Loom Large in My Diary:

  • 4 Jan. 2007: Questors comes out. Published by Puffin, it's a fast, funny, big fat fantasy. (Unbelievably, it is not the first volume of a trilogy. There should be an award just for that! Or at least a letter from the Queen.)

  • 5 April 2007: Ely Plot comes out. Published by Andersen Press, this one is the first of a series called The Wickit Chronicles, and is going to be followed by ...

  • Oct. 2007: Fen Gold, the second part of The Wickit Chronicles. When you check these out on Amazon, you'll notice there's no picture for the cover yet, but DAVID WYATT has agreed to be the illustrator, and if you look at his website, you will immediately realise just how cool that is.

This is kind of addictive, isn't it? but I did say short ... So that's all for now, and I hope that somebody other than family members posts a comment or six.

Cheers.
