You Are Invited!
If you're free the evening of 9 May and within striking distance of Edinburgh, it would be great to see you at the launch of two new story poem pamphlets from HappenStance Press - Granny Garbage by me and Luck by Michael Grieve. Details here!
Hope you can come!
Next Week at Moniack Mhor
Next week, I'm off to Moniack Mhor for the Pushkin Prizewinners Week! Gerry Cambridge and I will be tutoring 12 exciting young writers - 10 from Scotland and 2 from St Petersburg - as part of the Pushkin Prize, which is this year celebrating its 30th anniversary. Find out more about this excellent - and increasingly venerable - initiative here.
(I don't want to jinx anything - this time last year the Prizewinners were building snowmen! - but so far the weather is looking to be pretty mild. Here's hoping!)
In Which Granny Garbage and I Find Ourselves in Illustrious Company ...
To find out whose, have a read of Nell Nelson's most recent HappenStance blog here.
And Charlotte Gann looks at Granny Garbage and Michael Grieve's Luck in her OPOI Review here. Thank you, Charlotte and Nell!
For March, Read April
Finally, spring is beginning here! (Fingers crossed, any way.) So a bit of Emily Dickinson is called for - though for March, read April ...
Dear March - Come in -
How glad I am -
I looked for you before -
Put down your Hat -
You must have walked -
How out of Breath you are -
Dear March, how are you, and the Rest -
Did you leave Nature well -
Oh, March, Come right upstairs with me -
I have so much to tell -
