Weather Report
Fog
BY CARL SANDBURG
THE fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
Brains, Pains and Monsters
This week I was posting about the brain on Girls Heart Books, about pain in the brain on An Awfully Big Blog Adventure and tomorrow I'll have monsters on the brain at the Dundee Science Centre.
AND I started the week with an extremely excellent time at the Spirit of Moray Book Festival - thank you very much for having me! Ask me again and I'll be there in the flash of a neuron, and that's a no-brainer - (see what I did there ...)
The Season Turns
My cat is starting to grow her fur even softer and warmer. I'm digging out my ferret suitcase and trying to remember what it's like standing in front of an audience. I've put several projects on hold - weather witches and the Egyptian book are to be back-burnered for a while - to make room for another story - an experiment I'm giving the next so many* months to. My poetry mentor, Elizabeth Burns, has sent me her comments on the last tranche of poems, which means I need to absorb the wisdom and get stuck in to another batch. And the last few days I've had to turn the heating on.
It's autumn.
* A technical term which means "till Christmas but longer if it's going well".
Guesting
The impressively prolific Karen King has kindly invited me to her blog to do a guest post on and around Slightly Jones and the Case of the Hidden City - right here!
Agony Aunt
Hanging out with The History Girls this week, posting about my old friend, Agony Aunt Madge.
