Hilarious! Things never change! Might I suggest, for a bit of follow-up light reading a little book I bought from a charity shop the other day? It's a Polyglot guide which belonged to a Mrs Seymour Fraser in 1889 - an English-Italian 'Manual of Conversation' Stuffed full of examples of conversation and behaviour ...
Sounds great - I'll keep an eye out!
