I was thinking about Flanders and Swann this morning, the words 'bloody January again' ringing in my ears. It's been a while since they crossed my mind, and I wandered off into YouTube land, remembering. Here are a few of my favourites I found. What are yours?
Midsomer Norton station still exists, and is the headquarters of a Trust dedicated to restoring part of the Somerset and Dorset Railway, closed in the Beeching cuts.
Flanders and Swann made a mistake with the St Erth to St Ives branch line. Although it was slated to close in the cuts, it was reprieved. I travelled on it several times to visir my parents when they lived in Carbis Bay, one of the halts on that line.
I live and write in the Kingdom of Fife, overlooking the River Tay, with a view of trees and grey slate roofs and a skyscape it would be hard to better.

I'd forgotten 'The Slow Train'! Thanks, Andrew!
