The first day of my DIY writing retreat, on the west coast - I'd only just arrived - hadn't even got unpacked - and there they were, being delightfully otterly. It bodes exceeding well!
I think it could be that they take up residence in the bits of my mind that are normally seething with worries and compulsions and fears, and then I have more energy to write, not needing to use so much to keep said seething under wraps. Assuming the mind to be a finite space.
I live and write in the Kingdom of Fife, overlooking the River Tay, with a view of trees and grey slate roofs and a skyscape it would be hard to better.

Bet they'd been waiting for you to arrive . . .
Wishing you peace and good & happy writing times!
Lovely - where are you?
Roshven, Mavis - and it IS lovely!
Thank you, Penny - I can feel all the bunched-up muscles in my head uncurling!
Amazing little guys and they were just waiting for you, I know.
The muses amusing themselves, fur coats, cold water, rocky shores and antic excitement: just what is needed!
Exactly right - sea ferrets for the writerly soul!
Delightfully otterly or otterly delightful? How on earth will you manage to write with such wonderful distractions on your doorstep? :-)

Or not.
